Frank Zotynia & Son Earns National Board R-Stamp Certification
Publish date: October 7, 2026
Frank Zotynia & Son is now a National Board R-Stamp holder.
The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors has issued the company a Certificate of Authorization to perform code repairs and alterations on boilers, pressure vessels and other pressure-retaining equipment, in our Hackensack shop and in the field.
For plant owners across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, that means the same team that already builds and maintains your piping and mechanical systems can now handle code-required boiler and pressure vessel repairs too — no second contractor, no extra coordination.
What is an R-Stamp?
The "R" symbol stamp is issued by the National Board to organizations qualified to repair and alter pressure-retaining items under the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC). Many states require that welded repairs to boilers and pressure vessels be performed by an R Certificate holder.
To earn it, a contractor must:
- Maintain a written quality control system that meets NBIC Part 3
- Keep an inspection agreement with an Authorized Inspection Agency
- Pass an on-site review that demonstrates the program on actual or mock-up work
- Renew the certificate every three years
What it means for our customers
- Code-compliant repairs to boilers, pressure vessels and pressure piping, verified by a National Board Commissioned Inspector
- Complete documentation, including NBIC R-1 Reports of Repair and R-2 Reports of Alteration, registered with the National Board as required
- Faster turnaround — repairs planned and performed by the crew that already knows your plant
- One accountable contractor for welding, piping, boiler and pressure vessel work
Earning the R-Stamp is a milestone our team worked hard for. Our customers trust us with their piping and plant systems; now they can trust us with their boilers and pressure vessels too." — Frank Zotynia, President, Frank Zotynia & Son
