R-Stamp certified repair for Pennsylvania

Frank Zotynia & Son has served Pennsylvania facilities since 1999. Our R-Stamp certification means we can repair and alter your boilers, piping, and pressure vessels to Pennsylvania's requirements.

Who regulates boilers and pressure vessels in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania's Boiler and Unfired Pressure Vessel Law is enforced by the state Department of Labor & Industry, through its own staff and commissioned insurance company inspectors. The law covers boilers and unfired pressure vessels, with exemptions for certain residential, agricultural, and federal equipment, small water heaters, and vessels rated 15 psi or under.

Inspection intervals

Power boilers are generally inspected annually, though the interval can be extended to 24 months; unfired pressure vessels are generally inspected every 36 months.

What this means for a repair

Pre-installation or relocation of covered equipment requires approval from the Department of Labor & Industry, and approved units receive a Certificate of Operation. A repair or alteration has to follow the National Board Inspection Code and Pennsylvania's own requirements, documented so the certificate stays valid. As an R-Stamp holder, we handle this documentation as part of every job.

Why work with an R-Stamp certified contractor in Pennsylvania

Whether your equipment is inspected by a state inspector or a commissioned insurance company inspector, an R-Stamp repair gives you a documented record that satisfies both the National Board Inspection Code and Pennsylvania's own law.

How it works

We follow the same five-step process for every R-Stamp job: you tell us what you have, we do a site survey, we prepare the repair plan and coordinate with HSB, we complete the repair and inspection, and you get the documentation. See the full R-Stamp process for details.
